FARIA DE BASTOS & LOPES ADVOGADOS, or simply, FBL Advogados, was set up in 2004 resulting from the merger of three offices that gave rise to the first law firm in Angola with a way of being in the legal profession and with a working method similar in every aspect to the modern European or American law firms. The creation of FBL Advogados (initially named FBSL Advogados) represented a turning point in the way the legal profession was, until then, seen in Angola, having joined in a single office, lawyers with different levels of professional experience and with varied education background, which enabled it to answer to more complex and demanding processes, obtaining the recognition of important corporate clients and of institutional clients. In 2010, to meet the conveniences of many of its clients, FBL Advogados opened an office in Benguela, in the south coast of Angola. Currently, it has a team of more than 25 lawyers and a technical, administrative and ancillary staff of around 15 persons, continuing to be very keen in growing. In April 2014 FBL Advogados celebrated ten years of existence, being today one of the largest law firms in Agola, acknowledged internationally.
